For those of you who have no clue what "Mother 3" is, feel free to beat yourself with a stick.
"Back in the day," Nintendo released one of the quirkiest (and greatest) RPG's to ever grace the Super Nintendo, or any console for that matter. Earthbound, called Mother 2 in Japan, is one of my favorite games of all time because it's so incredibly unique and original. Compared to Ye Old Fantasy RPG, Earthbound was quite a breath of fresh air without a cliché in sight.
The battle mechanics were also quite revolutionary for the time, and the dialog was absolutely
hilarious!Anyway, Mother 3 was the sequel to Earthbound and was supposed to be released for the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive. Since the 64DD was never released, the game slowly faded into oblivion. I remember eagerly looking through Nintendo Power trying to find new screenshots for the game.

Here's an ooooold picture of the 64DD that I stole off the original Nintendo website shortly all the way back on December 29, 1997. Am I hardcore, or what?
Anyway, it appears the game has been resurrected from the dead and will released on the Gameboy Advance. If it ever comes to US shores, I'll buy a GBA and the game the day it's released! Here's the SlashDot story...
