Meredith and I have been playing the demos for Next Car Game over and over again. If you don't mind dropping $25 on a short demo of an early access game, it is worth every penny.

Essentially, it's a racing game with demolition derby aspects. The physics are pretty amazing and each car has a hojillion different pieces to mangle and break. I've never played a racing game in which it felt so satisfying to slam into an opponent's car.

For those of you that want to kick it old school, I noticed Descent was released on Steam today. It's 50% off, and I can't imagine a better way to spend $3.49 that doesn't involve Wes's mom.

This was one of the first fully 3D games I ever played. Descent came pre-loaded on my Acer Aspire with it's whopping 100MHz Pentium CPU and 8MB of RAM. Video cards? Psssht, we don't need no stinking video cards!

The expansion for Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls, comes out on March 25th. Here's the 4.5 minute opening cinematic. In addition to a new act, the expansion will also come with a new class, a new artisan that allows you to re-roll stats on gear and re-skin it, and a couple new "adventure" themed, loot-focused play modes.

I started playing D3 again a couple days ago to check out the shiny new 2.0 patch. It's the first time I've played since early 2013, and a lot has changed over the last 12-14 months! This really is the Diablo game we wanted back in 2012! Legendary items are actually pretty decent these days, and drops are far more likely to be relevant for your class. Moreover, useless buffs like +Str on a wizard hat are gone.

The auction houses are closing on March 18th, not sure what I think about that yet.
