A few things about this article:
1) I was thinking about putting this in cry freedom however the people in the article are all morons.
2) I support the decision that the court made. You should say and think whatever you want to...no matter how stupid it is. The only people who fought this are probabily people who don't realize that they can't win.
3) The reason I was going to post in "Cry Freedom" was because I was betting on some morons wanting people to sign up to vote non-unanimously and track these sickos.
4) These people are sickos but it's just like NAMBLA as long as their not acting on their feelings, they are a million times better than the people who do. Now if you want the Christian perspective...we need to get all these people some help. And if that includes someone kicking them in the crotch until they "change their minds"...I'm the man for the job!

If I were the king of the world, I would take each registered voter that voted for the so-called "pedophile party" and have them shivved in the back with a Kryptonite blade, which I would then break off in their back before pushing them off a massive cliff.

Artist claims giant jump could save the planet
Hans Peter Niesward, from the Department of Gravitationsphysik at the ISA in Munich, says we can stop global warming in one fell swoop -- or, more accurately, in one big jump.
The slightly disheveled professor states his case on WorldJumpDay.org, an Internet site created to recruit 600,000,000 people to jump simultaneously on July 20 at 11:39:13 GMT in an effort to shift Earth's position.
Niesward claims that on this day "Earth occupies one of the most fragile positions in its orbits for the last 100 years." According to the site, the shift in orbit will "stop global warming, extend daytime hours and create a more homogeneous climate."
The Man Who Wasn't There
Niesward's theory has at least one major flaw: Niesward doesn't really exist. He is a character created by Torsten Lauschmann, a German-born artist living in Scotland. Lauschmann -- a live performer, filmmaker, DJ and photographer -- may be best known for his work "Misshapen Pearl," described as a "phenomenological investigation of the streetlamp's function in our consumer society."
Lauschmann's multimedia approach has allowed him to explore a wide variety of subjects, including butterflies, paparazzi photos and, now, a flash-mob experiment.
In 2005, Lauschmann encouraged scientists and bloggers from around the world to discuss World Jump Day.
"He thought it would just circulate among friends, but it quickly seemed to morph. Within weeks it was global -- people in Australia were talking about it on the radio," said Neil Mulholland, a reader in contemporary art theory at Edinburgh College of Art. "The more it was discussed, the more people joined the site, and it crashed several times."
The site now claims to have just under 600 million jumpers registered for the cause. But will people jump out of environmental activism or a commitment to the bizarre? Is the jump as important as the buzz it's created?
The Anti-Jumpers
Members of the online environmental site treehugger.com have been debating not only the physical possibility of the jump's promise but the morality of its outcome.
Some believe it's risky to alter Earth's orbit, while others fear the jump will make the Gregorian calendar obsolete because of the length of Earth's new orbit. Others doubt the ability of the world's population to synchronize an event like this.
The folks at madphysics.com have constructed an anti-World Jump Day manifesto, complete with equations drawn up to dispute the validity of Niesward's -- or Lauschmann's -- theories.
Supposedly based on "seismographic recordings ranging from impacts of comets to the simultaneous movement of the audience at the 2002 World Cup Final," the site uses graphs, bell curves and diagrams to support its hypothesis and directs the user to several prestigious science and environmental sites, none of which mention World Jump Day or support any of its assertions.
One word of caution: The site tells those of us living in the eastern part of the United States to jump at 6:39:13 because we are five hours behind GMT, but that is not true in July. Because of daylight savings time, Lauschmann has a part of the United States jumping an hour early.

Any place that doesn't treat the homeless as people is not a place I would like to be a part of...no in fact, I would break that law everyday to a) do the right thing and b) to show them. Here in Kzoo we have "The Mission" and it helps anyone with only two rules 1) no drinking and b) no drugs. That's it! Does LV think that straving its citizens who they still must "protect and serve" will get rid of the problem. I for one am the first to say that I should be doing more to help the poor but I think everyone (or at least I thought so) could agree that this is wrong and evil.

If I may recommend a book, read "Under the Overpass" by Mike Yankowski. It 's about two young Christian men that intentionally became homeless and traveled around the country for six months to learn how to best help the homeless. It's an eye-opening read.

Family wallops would-be robber, wraps things up for police
Wednesday, July 19, 2006
WEST PALM BEACH — While covering his head amid the barrage of flying fists and feet, his legs bound with a jump-rope by children half his size, a bruised and bloodied Craig Mack had a sudden realization, police say: He'd picked the wrong family to mess with.
Mack arrived at the Perez family home at 611 28th St. Monday night just as an exhausted Mateo Perez was getting home from a 12-hour day of landscaping and cleaning buildings. Mack probably figured he could swipe Perez's wallet and get away without much of a fight, police said.
But he didn't count on having to brawl with the rest of the Perez clan: Candelaria, the 4-foot-9 housewife with a wicked right hook she honed as a girl on the streets of Guatemala; daughter Imelta, the mellow 13-year-old who never dreamed she would take a chair to a robber's head and tie him up; and son Juan, the 10-year-old Miami Heat fanatic who traded his basketball for a stick to whip an attacker.
When Mack attacked Mateo Perez shortly before 10 p.m.,
the father of five cried out for help
from the family he has supported single-handedly since arriving from Guatemala in 1987.
Within seconds, they were fighting at his side.
About 20 minutes later, police found Mack lying face down in the back yard, his legs bound in jump-rope, Mateo sitting on top of him.
Mack, 23, of Loxahatchee, was examined at St. Mary's Medical Center and later taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He is being held without bail on charges of robbery and battery. His criminal history includes arrests on charges of larceny, dealing in stolen property and firing a weapon.
"We knew we had to be strong and help our dad out," said Juana Perez, 15, who called 911 during the fight.
"This guy was big, but we weren't going to let him get away. He wasn't going to kill our dad in our own yard."
Mateo Perez, 45, had spotted Mack lurking in the bushes, the family said. Knowing he was in danger, he banged on a house window and yelled for help. Mack was suddenly on him, dragging him to the ground before pulling his wallet from his shirt pocket, police said.
Mack started to run away, but Perez grabbed his feet and pulled him to the ground. The men wrestled in the yard. That's when Candelaria, 42, and her children Imelta, Juana, Juan and 6-year-old Alycia came running out of their pink two-bedroom home.
Candelaria said she grabbed Mack's hair, shaking his head while she and her husband struggled to keep him down. The 6-foot, 155-pound Mack punched or kicked her, she said, sending her to the ground. He beat her husband and ripped his shirt.
Her parents in trouble, Imelta picked up a blue plastic yard chair and cracked it over Mack's head, leaving him stunned and dizzy.
"I smacked him, and he went silent," the Palm Springs Middle School sixth-grader said.
Candelaria, bruised and furious, charged Mack again as he wrestled Mateo Perez.
She punched him, grabbed his hair and repeatedly slammed his head into some wooden boards in the yard,
the family said. Juan came after him with a stick.
Candelaria ordered Imelta to go inside and get something to tie Mack up.
She came out moments later holding an old white jump-rope with wooden handles. As her father held down Mack, she and her siblings carefully bound his legs and tied a solid knot.
"If they had not come out, maybe I would have been badly hurt or maybe killed," Mateo Perez said.
When police arrived, the family said the officers ordered Candelaria to step away from Mack. But before she stood up,
the housewife gave him a final sock in the face
. Police took him away.
"I hope he learned his lesson,"
Candelaria said.
SAAAAAWEEEEEEEEET! I love a story with a happy ending! That's some quality family time, if you ask me!

Ireland worker finds ancient psalms in bog
By SHAWN POGATCHNIK
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER
DUBLIN, Ireland -- Irish archaeologists Tuesday heralded the discovery of an ancient book of psalms by a construction worker who spotted something while driving the shovel of his backhoe into a bog.
The approximately 20-page book has been dated to the years 800-1000. Trinity College manuscripts expert Bernard Meehan said it was the first discovery of an Irish early medieval document in two centuries.
"This is really a miracle find," said Pat Wallace, director of the National Museum of Ireland, which has the book stored in refrigeration and facing years of painstaking analysis before being put on public display.
"There's two sets of odds that make this discovery really way out. First of all, it's unlikely that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all, and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed is incalculably more amazing."
He said an engineer was digging up bogland last week to create commercial potting soil somewhere in Ireland's midlands when, "just beyond the bucket of his bulldozer, he spotted something." Wallace would not specify where the book was found because a team of archaeologists is still exploring the site.
"The owner of the bog has had dealings with us in past and is very much in favor of archaeological discovery and reporting it," Wallace said.
advertising
Crucially, he said, the bog owner covered up the book with damp soil. Had it been left exposed overnight, he said, "it could have dried out and just vanished, blown away."
The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel.
Wallace said several experts spent Tuesday analyzing only that page - the number of letters on each line, lines on each page, size of page - and the book's binding and cover, which he described as "leather velum, very thick wallet in appearance."
It could take months of study, he said, just to identify the safest way to pry open the pages without damaging or destroying them. He ruled out the use of X-rays to investigate without moving the pages.
Ireland already has several other holy books from the early medieval period, including the ornately illustrated Book of Kells, which has been on display at Trinity College in Dublin since the 19th century.

MPAA sues multimillionaire that is ready to fight the charge
Posted by Dan Bell on 26 July 2006 - 02:45 - Source: Wired
"Finally! Someone, with the means ($$$) to do it, is going to fight the MPAA and its tactics, in court. Looks like this is a case to follow: case number 06CV0545, Universal vs. Hogan filed in US District Court (California Southern District, Ninth Circuit)."
Last November, Shawn Hogan received an unsettling call: A lawyer representing Universal Pictures and the Motion Picture Association of America informed the 30-year-old software developer that they were suing him for downloading Meet the Fockers over BitTorrent. Hogan was baffled. Not only does he deny the accusation, he says he already owned the film on DVD. The attorney said they would settle for $2,500. Hogan declined. Now he’s embroiled in a surprisingly rare situation – a drawn-out legal fight with the MPAA.
As Jonzap mentions, Hogan is definately a man of means, as former CEO of Digital Point Solutions, he just happens to be a multimillionaire. The $100,000 that he expects to pay in legal fees, to fight this charge from the MPAA, is worth every cent in his eyes. Mr. Hogan, like many others, realizes that the tactics used by these "artists associations" are an abuse of he legal system and he is going to do his best to fight it. Hogan says. “I would spend well into the millions on this.”
In retort, the MPAA had this to say: “We look forward to addressing his issues in a court of law.” Head on over to Wired for the full report. It certainly will be interesting to keep an eye on this case. Possibly, we are all looking forward to it more than the MPAA!
