Traders From Chicago Board Of Trade Dump McDonald’s Applications On Occupy Chicago Protesters
In the middle of an Occupy Chicago teach-in this week, traders at the Chicago Board of Trade dumped several sheets of paper on top of the heads of protesters below. Demonstrators were angered to find out they were showered with employment applications for McDonald’s.
"Real class acts, the Chicago Board of Trade,” tweeted Occupy Chicago. "This week, it’s McDonald’s job applications they litter from the windows. Soulless place.”
Bahahaha, beautiful! It's sheer poetry!

I almost killed myself trying to take a pic of the Chrysler HQ while driving through Detroit last week, and all I got were a bunch of blurry messes. Anyway, here's what I was trying to capture:
There's nothing sexier than a 15-story tall banner showing the 2012 SRT8 in all its pixelicious glory!

Oh no! Our secret is out. Damn you wikileaks!
1. If I use turn signals other people will know what I plan to do and try and beat me. I drive with the element of surprise!
2. Truthfully the only ones that don't like getting cut off are the jeeps. With other cars that close on the highway the change in wind usually flips them over.
3. Drafting gets you better gas mileage. Duh.
4. My time is much more important than yours. Just look at what car I drive and you will understand. Plus it is a privilege getting a text message from me. Would you deny other peoples happiness?
5. I do this while walking so no surprise I would drive like this. ,|,,
6. Again my time is much more valuable than someone who slums it in say a jeep. If I miss a turn everyone on the highway should stop and let me go back.
7. I can handle the speed of light so this is not relevant.
8. C-C-C-Combo!

My resolutions for 2012:
Crush my enemies.
See them driven before me.
Hear the lamentation of their women.
But for really reals:
Make it to at least four 3 Gun matches.
Increase the emergency fund.
Take some time off and go somewhere.
Anywhere.
How about you guys?

Here's a nifty video from Detroit. A couple of EMTs recorded a video after their ambulance broke down on New Year's Eve. The level of gunfire is reminiscent of Fallujah.

Yet another tale from Detroit...
Quote:
A Detroit man who called 911 three times to report a break-in at his mother’s apartment has been ticketed for “misuse” of the emergency line, even though the reason he kept calling was because it took police hours to show up.
Sean Street told Detroit Fox affiliate WJBK-TV his mother called him when she returned home and saw her front door had been kicked in. He called 911, then jumped in his car to go over to her apartment.
It took him an hour to get there, and when he arrived police hadn’t shown up. He made another 911 call and another hour later they still hadn’t come by, so he called a third time.
“[There] was no profanity whatsoever. I was very polite with them. The officer actually seemed very polite, also, and he told me let us handle it. Don’t take matters into your own hands,” Street told the station.
I think it might be time to give Detroit to Canada.

Since we were talking about urban exploration at the LAN, I thought I'd start sharing links to nifty sites as I come across them. I've started taking an interest in foreign UE sites as of late, particularly in Japan and the former Soviet Union. Here's a site showing a nifty partially-abandoned rocket testing facility in Russia. The entire site is in Russian, but the pictures make up for the lack of readable text.

Also, here is the giant antenna array I mentioned on Saturday. It's called the Woodpecker Duga Radar Array, and it is indescribably massive:

If you guys have any neat finds, be sure to share them!

I would love to do some shooting (movie wise) during day/night in Purgatory again if you guys are up for it sometime.
I would love to go to a few places here in MI that I've heard are good for UE. Detroit being a big place.

This is the one I was talking about at the LAN that I would love to go to.

I went to the dinosaur park once as a kid. All I remember was that everything was in poor condition. I think Irish Hills was mostly dead even when we were kids, a relic of a bygone era.
There were several different attractions in Irish Hills, all but one of which were in horrible condition. In addition to the Prehistoric Forest, there was also a paranormal-themed "Mystery Hill" where they had a few shabby attractions to look at. In particular, I remember a water trough in which water ran up hill. The entire place was built at an angle...

There was also a Wild West-themed attraction called the Stagecoach Stop. It was the only place that was in decent condition and had more than a handful of visitors. I think that place would make a cool urban exploration destination as well, although it was abandoned more recently.
It appears all of the attractions in Irish Hills are now closed. Here are a couple of quick blurbs:

There are some absolutely hilarious stock photos out there. As a warning, some are too weird for words, and probably not entirely safe for work:

I've been a bad Internet user. Some folks have been slamming Starbucks for not openly banning firearms in their facilities (typical liberal BS), so I've been trolling their
Facebook page
like a boss. Sadly, they must have someone hovering over the delete button 24/7, because none of my posts seem to last more than five minutes.

Forget global warming - it's Cycle 25 we need to worry about
The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.
The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.
Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.
