Well it's because our precious little snowflake might get his feelings hurt and he only wrote that because he wasn't able to deal with standardize testing that challenges him waaay too much.  Boo hoo.

Drunken Swede tries to row home from Denmark
Mon Jun 30, 2008 1:08pm EDT

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN3040033620080630

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - A drunken 78-year-old Swede stole a dinghy after a night out in the Danish town of Helsingor and tried to row back to Sweden, but fell asleep halfway, Danish police said on Monday.

When the man discovered he lacked the necessary funds to pay for the ferry from Helsingor to Helsingborg in Sweden on Saturday, he decided to row the five km (three miles) across the strait of Oresund that separates the two.

He quickly grew tired and, trusting fortune and the currents to see him safely home, took a snooze at the bottom of the boat, where Danish police later found him out at sea, still asleep.

The strait is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Police said the owner of the dinghy had decided not to press charges.

Chrono Trigger is coming to Nintendo DS!

http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ctds/

Honestly, I'm not all that excited about yet-another Chrono Trigger port, but this is somewhat momentous because it shows that Square hasn't completely forgotten the franchise.  Hopefully they'll get off their collective butts and start working on a second sequel!

For those of you that aren't familiar with Chrono Trigger, it is the best game ever, and you can go straight to hell if you disagree with me.

Man found in WI basement covered in BBQ sauce

July 3, 2008 - 7:44AM

APPLETON, Wisc. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A couple telephoned police in the middle of the night after finding a man in their basement covered head to toe in barbecue sauce.

"He told the officers that it was urban camouflage," said the homeowner.

This happened in Wisconsin.  The homeowners say they woke up to whistling sounds.

The husband grabbed his shotgun and headed toward the basement where he found the sauced-up intruder.

He held him at gunpoint until police arrived.  The guy told officers he covered himself in barbecue sauce because he wanted to hide from the government.

He now faces burglary charges.

Any article written by WWMT is actively painful to read, but this one was funny enough that it warranted a post here, crappy writing and all!

Couple marries at Waffle House

By Alex P. Joyner
Staff Writer

DACULA - As the famous twang of Hank Williams Jr. blasted from an SUV stereo Friday afternoon, about 30 folks socialized, sipped soda and puffed on cigarettes.

No, this wasn't a Fourth of July backyard barbecue. It was the run-up to a wedding.

In a Waffle House parking lot.

The lucky couple, George "Bubba" Mathis and Pamela Christian - both 23 and employees at the Dacula diner located at the Ga. Highway 316/U.S. Highway 29 interchange - wouldn't have it any other way.

"I don't know, it's something different," Mathis said while fixing his tie prior to the ceremony.

For years, the couple tried to marry on their Independence Day anniversary. But the bride was always scheduled to work. Instead of waiting any longer - she got the day off at the last minute; Mathis had to report for the morning shift - the couple of nine years decided to seal the deal at work.

The result was what a NASCAR tailgate might be like if Hank Jr. himself stopped by with all his rowdy friends: Loud and proud - country music, storytelling and plenty of Dale Earnhardt paraphernalia - and not an iota of pretentiousness.

Shortly after exchanging vows under the shade of a tree next to the parking lot, both man and wife let out sighs of relief as they picked up their two little blonde girls and chatted with family and friends. But there was not time to relax - the wedding cake had to be cut inside.

"It's been crazy, madness," the bride said. "Finally, everything worked out."

Standing nearby, the father of the newly minted Mrs. Pamela Mathis, William Christopher, wondered if anyone had videotaped the ceremony. He wants to send it in to CMT.

"I think it's pretty redneck myself," he said, laughing. "But I'm a redneck anyway, so."

The couple plans to honeymoon Monday and Tuesday, but then it's back to work.

The destination?

"I don't know yet," Mathis said.

You guys have got to check out the photo slideshow at the bottom of the article here!

Holy crap!

He must have really hit that thing to bring it down completely!  I'm glad nobody else was waiting under that awning!

When I worked at the bank, one of the most common maintenance problems was repairing the "cash drawer" at the branch offices.  This is the drawer that slides out from the building into the first lane that allows people to make deposits or get change rolls that can't go through the vacuum tube.  Even when closed, it sticks out from the building about six inches.

It used to get hit on a fairly regular basis, even though it was very brightly marked.  One time, it got hit so hard that it was ripped out of the building, and much of the brick facade around it was damaged.

Interesting times...

DALLAS — Police got quite a surprise Wednesday morning when they discovered cocaine worth $400,000 secretly hidden in a 2004 black Infiniti that they have been driving two months, officials said.

An officer cleaning the car seized at a drug house earlier this year discovered the nearly 50 pounds of cocaine carefully hidden in hydraulically controlled compartments at the northeast patrol station.

"These compartments have recently been more and more popular with drug operations," Deputy Chief Julian Bernal, commander of the narcotics division, said in Wednesday's online edition of The Dallas Morning News.

Undercover Dallas police put the two-door black Infiniti into police service on May 7 after seizing it at a drug house.

Bernal said police officers in March responded to a report of gunshots and masked individuals beating a man behind a house in northwest Dallas.

There, police found blood on a 1999 Honda and a trail of blood leading into the home.

No one was home, but police found $34,000 in cash, drug scales and a small amount of cocaine. Police also seized the Honda and the Infiniti.

Bernal said the narcotics division searched both of the vehicles and found nothing. The Honda was sold at auction.

Bernal said police plan to contact the person who bought it to find out if drugs were hidden in the Honda, too. And, they are also trying to find out who owned the cocaine they have been secretly driving around with.

Dang, what size of compartment would you need to hide $300,000 worth of cocaine?

I mean, you can't just put $200,000 worth of cocaine in the glove box.

I'd guess that the $100,000 of cocaine was in some sort of trunk container.

Anyway, its good that the $50,000 worth of cocaine is off the streets!

Haha no.  But I know that cocaine is roughly the same mass and consistency as flour (Thats why its commonly used as a means of "watering" down cocaine).  And I know what a one pound bag of loosely packed flour that you buy at the grocery store looks like.

Considering that a drug dealer probably packages his cocaine a helluva lot more compact than that, I can imagine 50 of those bags easily fitting into a vehicle.

I think b0b was misunderstanding that "400,000" dollars in cocaine isn't exactly the same amount as lets say....."400,000" dollars of chocolate Smiley

Quote:
A homosexual man who has a blog on Sen. Barack Obama's campaign website is suing two major Christian publishers for violating his constitutional rights and causing emotional pain, because the Bible versions they publish refer to homosexuality as a sin.

Bradley LaShawn Fowler, 39, of Canton, Mich., is seeking $60 million from Zondervan and another $10 million from Thomas Nelson Publishing in lawsuits filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Press reported.

Fowler filed his claim against Grand Rapids-based Zondervan Monday, alleging its Bibles' references to homosexuality as a sin have made him an outcast from his family and contributed to physical discomfort and periods of "demoralization, chaos and bewilderment," the paper said.

He filed suit against Tennessee publisher Thomas Nelson in June.

Zondervan says that even if Fowler's claim is credible, he's suing the wrong party. A company spokesman told WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids that Zondervan doesn't translate the Bible or own the copyright for any of the translations but relies, instead, on the "scholarly judgment of credible translation committees."

U.S. District Judge Julian Abele Cook Jr. refused Monday to appoint an attorney to represent Fowler in the Thomas Nelson case, saying the court "has some very genuine concerns about the nature and efficacy of these claims."

Fowler, who is representing himself in both lawsuits, says in his complaint against Zondervan that the publisher intended to design a religious, sacred document to reflect an individual opinion or a group's conclusion to cause "me or anyone who is a homosexual to endure verbal abuse, discrimination, episodes of hate, and physical violence ... including murder."

Fowler alleges both Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, with its King James Bible, manipulated Scripture without informing the public by using the term "homosexuals" in a New Testament passage, 1 Corinthians 6:9.

He told the Grand Rapids TV station in an interview he wants to "compensate for the past 20 years of emotional duress and mental instability."

I wonder how this guy deals with more specific verses, such as Leviticus 20:13?

It sounds like the judge is just going to throw this out, thankfully.  If not, he needs to be tarred, feathered, and run out of town.

Well he should wait 4 years until the Dems can get the "Fairness Doctrine" made into law and do what Canada did...make The Bible hate speech.

I wonder if suing God is a sin?  Or if I can sue for things like, "Render unto Cezar what is Cezar's"...my computer just keeps hitting me up for "protection money".
