Tech Certifications

I'm thinking about getting some certifications to make me look cool on paper.

I mainly wanted to ask which were the best or most respected, A+ was all I could think of....

A+ is completely, totally, absolutely useless.  Aim for something relevant, like MCP tests.  The new MCSA cert isn't real difficult if you apply yourself.

(...would not recommend going for an A+.)

I have an A+ cert and I can tell you its almost as useless as me CNA cert!  (Keyword, Almost)

Most interviewers will just be like - "Oh A+ cert, isn't that cute"

I don't even list my CNA on my résumé, and I'd list that before I'd list an A+.  At least a CNA shows diversity.  An A+ is just a "durrrrr, I build kompyooters" certificate which isn't even worth the cost of the test.

Yeah the only reason I have one is cuz Westwood financed mine Wink

But yeah, I rarely even list my CNA or A+ certs, maybe I should try it though, so far I cant find jobs worth shit Wink

Your best bet is to go with Microsoft and Cisco certs if your looking to get computer work.  I'm not really familiar with programming certifications so I won't be able to help you out there.

VOIP certs are hot right now too, I swear every interview I've gone to in the last 5 months I've had that question asked to me.
