I didn't take it, althought I prepared for it and could've passed without much trouble. The requirements are pretty easy. There are four tests total, with a minimum ten minute rest between each activity. The performance requirement for the tests varies by age and gender, but for us they're...

19" Vertical Jump
36 Situps
37 Pushups
4:11.8 Half-Mile Run

The situps and vertical jump are easy, and I could do both with little training. The half-mile run was a bit harder. I can speed-walk a half mile around my block in 12 minutes, so jogging in 4 minutes wasn't impossible. The pushups were the hardest for me. I suck at doing pushups. It took me two months to break 40 consecutive pushups, and I highly doubt I could get anywhere close to that now.

Anyway, I'm told the test is pretty easy and you generally have plenty of time to rest in between. Pat is a former track star, so I'm sure he'll be just fine. You can always retest whatever you fail.

Sometimes I get on these kicks of doing pushups and situps at night. I usually do 30 push ups to start every day, then after about a week go up to by 1 push up each day until I get to about 38. I would probably struggle most with the situps. I probably have a 24" vertical jump. It shouldn't be hard, I've seen cops that couldn't currently pass that test. I can't see bob passing that test though, no offense.

btw, make sure you stretch good so your not stiff the next day.
