Japan is like that really crazy kid at the back of the bus...normal when he isn't reminded that he is in the real world and not in his head. But distract him with a shinny fork and at the end of the bus trip home, the place is covered in blood and the last person alive is only that way because the fork tines are too bent to reach further into your spine. We'd invade the country again to stop the madness...but we're just scared!

I thought this was pretty neat. The Denver Post assembled a bunch of pictures from America during World War II, all in color. After looking through several of these pictures in color, it is hard to remember what time frame I'm looking at. It's weird how color has morphed into a method of recognizing time...

I know exactly what you mean. When I was little, I would see anything before the 1960s in black and white...so I thought the world existed in black and white. I couldn't grasp that when my grandfather fought in WWII it was in color or the trees out side my grandparents house weren't in black and white. Amazing what I thought when I was four...teen.
