|
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 18th, 2006 at 1:35pm
I'll be gone from the 22 to the afternoon of the 26th...also we should do a New Years party again if anyone is up for it?
X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 18th, 2006 at 1:58pm
How about Friday?
-b0b (...is free!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 18th, 2006 at 2:30pm
Meaning the 22nd or the 29th?
I still don't know if I'm leaving yet on the 22 or the 23. Either way you guys have fun and plan it with what's convent for you. I can always catch another one. X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 18th, 2006 at 3:40pm
LAME! We can't have a LAN without Stewie!
-b0b (...WEAK!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 18th, 2006 at 4:11pm
Well if Friday works for all you guys then go for it...I'll find out sometime soon if I leave on Sat or Friday.
X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by computerjuvenile on Dec 18th, 2006 at 6:25pm
Hey I might be able to go. I would just need a ride from somebody. I'll be back in town Thursday night sometime, and then I don't have to be back till the 15th.
~ Attebizzel |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 18th, 2006 at 6:45pm
Looks like I'm leaving on Thursday so you guys have fun with your LAN and think about having a New Years one if you're up for one and don't have any other plans. If the mains hosters (mainly Bob :-P ) can't or doesn't want to have one...I could host another board game party.
Just some thoughts. X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Briney on Dec 18th, 2006 at 8:10pm
new years lan would be rockin, havent done one in a long time
|
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 19th, 2006 at 12:06am
Heck yeah, I'm all about the New Year's LANnage!
I propose a rule - all games must be decided on by no later than the end of the day on December 25th. That'll give us a full work week to work on downloading/cracking the games so we'll be ready to play when we arrive on Saturday the 30th. LAN law? -b0b (...LAN law!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Briney on Dec 19th, 2006 at 12:37am Quote:
LAN Law! ha! I'm a product of advertising now. Yea sounds fun. Any games ideas? speak now or forever hold your piece! *snicker* |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 19th, 2006 at 12:41am
How about some
Call of Duty Empire Earth and some old school SMAC? X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 19th, 2006 at 8:47am
Holy crap, I don't even think I remember how to play SMAC. Unreal Tournament 2004?
-b0b (...YEAAAAAAAAH!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Stick on Dec 19th, 2006 at 9:15pm
I vote UT2004, CoD, and C&C Generals Zero Hour. I would be down for EE although I haven't played in probably a year.
If someone can't be setup by party time, show up early to install. |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Briney on Dec 19th, 2006 at 9:41pm
pfft.... gaming at a lan?
screw that I'm there to file transfer YEAAA! ARGG GURGLE *random football player sounds* *slap on the butt* RAWRRRGG Yea but seriously, CoD, UT2004, SMAC, and EE sound good. |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 20th, 2006 at 12:38am
Do I need to add a poll or something? For crying out loud!
-b0b (...just wanted an excuse to say that.) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by computerjuvenile on Dec 20th, 2006 at 12:41am
I think you should.
But my video card sucks, I'll just be there for file sharing. ~ Attebizzel |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 20th, 2006 at 12:44am
Dude, you should easily be able to cover some of the older games we're talking about, like Empire Earth.
-b0b (...could run it on a 286.) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 26th, 2006 at 4:27pm
Alright so what's going down for our New Year LAN?
Are we taking advantage of Bob again? Uhh I mean his apt? I am really excited to see all of you again...it's been way too long. X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 26th, 2006 at 5:00pm
Alright, guys, there's your freakin' poll. I'd recommend choosing at least one real-time strategy game and one first-person shooter, but that's just my opinion.
-b0b (...picked UT and C&C:GZH, FTW!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 26th, 2006 at 5:08pm
Bob I really appreciate you hosting yet another LAN party...I'm sorry that I could never host one at my parent's place here. We'd burn the house down if we had 4 computers on.
7 PM on Sunday ok? X (Figured he'd suggest a time) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 26th, 2006 at 9:00pm
I'll be at Church on Sunday evening so I won't I won't be home until ~8:30pm. Is that alright with everyone?
-b0b (...is glad he had Monday off!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 26th, 2006 at 11:19pm
Want to make it an even 9 so you don't feel rushed?
|
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Briney on Dec 27th, 2006 at 1:05am well lets not get crazy... 8:31 is fine by me. ok, 9 is good. |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 27th, 2006 at 11:46am
9:00pm it is, then! I'll try to have the house in some semblance of order by then.
-b0b (...did some preparatory cleaning last night.) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 27th, 2006 at 1:07pm
I know what the apts are called but I can't remember exactly which one...may you tell me?
X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 27th, 2006 at 2:24pm
Waterfront Apartments, Building 409, Apartment 12.
Just remember - "Formula 409," and the apartment is the last one in the building. My name is on the (barely legible) door buzzer list. -b0b (...w00t!) |

-b0b (...is craving cream soda like woah!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 28th, 2006 at 9:04am
Great, we've got a freakin' tie. Will one of you guys ask FatMan to break it for us? Otherwise, I think we should go with Call of Duty, UT2004, and C&C: Generals Zero Hour.
Call of Duty and C&C: Generals Zero Hour are already on the server. I've got a legal copy of UT2004, so you guys will have to torrent a copy if you need it. Stick, I can arrange to have a copy of UT2004 downloaded for you if you need it. -b0b (...two w00ts for good planning!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Dec 28th, 2006 at 9:07am
For what it's worth, I've got Call of Duty and its expansion, United Offensive available. I also have Call of Duty 2. Are we sticking with the original or what?
-b0b (...needs to know these things.) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by The_Fat_Man on Dec 28th, 2006 at 12:38pm
There I voted in hopes of breaking the tie down a bit.
|
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 28th, 2006 at 3:27pm
I have those same CoDs as well just in case other people don't.
I think we should try CoD2 first because we've never played that one on Multi and I'd like to see what it's like with the better graphics. However I think the original is still our favs for Multi since we've got our machine gun nest in the building level and of course Pavlov. X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Stick on Dec 28th, 2006 at 8:24pm
I have a legal copy of UT2K4 and I have all the games on the pole installed already except earth2160 which is not a contender anyway.

Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Dec 31st, 2006 at 3:40am
So should we bring anything to the par-te? (party)?
X |

-b0b (...what?!) |

Why are you out again?!
X (Still has plenty!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Jan 1st, 2007 at 9:48am
Yes that is my 1776 ship taking the final kill in one of the most intense Empire Earth games at a LAN.
Thanks for LAN bob! X |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Jan 1st, 2007 at 9:59am
Here is the game summary in detail. I'd resize the images, but it's 10:00am and I really need some sleep!
It was the four of us (Stewie, Stick, Briney and I) against a medium bot, which is wickedly hard in Empire Earth. I was closest to the bot so I got my butt handed to me right off the bat. I withdrew into Stewie's base (thanks Stewie!) and regrouped, but since I no longer had any resource piles, I was mostly stuck with producing food and chopping trees. That meant my epoch progression was insanely slow (over an hour longer than everyone else!) but I had a ridiculous amount of food and wood. I eventually managed to recapture my own base and we had a four way bot-stomping good time. Easily one of the best LAN's in years! -b0b (...really, really needs some sleep!) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Jan 2nd, 2007 at 12:49pm
So when did you guys wake up on Monday? I slept from 11:30am until 9:00pm, got up and made dinner, then curled up with a good book (Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings, which I finished) for a couple hours before going back to bed.
Best. New Years. Ever. -b0b (...needed to catch up on some sleep.) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by X on Jan 2nd, 2007 at 3:38pm
Went to bed at 11:30 and woke up at about 5:30PM...then I didn't go to bed until 7AM and slept to 3:30 PM
:o X (Feels all discombobulated) |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Briney on Jan 2nd, 2007 at 6:42pm ditto to patrick im all messed up now. |
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by Stick on Jan 3rd, 2007 at 9:43am
I slept from 12:00pm to 7:30pm and went to sleep at 1:00am and woke up at 8:30am. I'm back on track now.
|
Title: Re: Christmas LAN Post by b0b on Jan 3rd, 2007 at 10:43am
I was a bit wonky yesterday, but I got to sleep in a bit late today (inventory time at work, yay!) so I'm back on track. W00t!
-b0b (...now with three scoops of raisins!) |
