2% of precincts have reported in.  Exit polls are showing 52% Democrat versus 48% Republican.

Of course, exit polls are notoriously unreliable.  Besides, Republicans tend to vote after work, while Democrats vote during the day when all of the Republicans are working.

I heard a similar report on the radio on my way to vote.  Pretty depressing, isn't it?

No, there isn't a woman stepping in as speaker of the house, there's a freakin' demon.  Pelosi is a socialistic, elitist, gun-grabbing %$#$%!@.  There are no words to describe how incompetent she is.  Even if I was a Democrat, I would've voted Republican simply to keep her out of that seat.

Screw California, and screw Pelosi.

Proposal roundup: Doves spared, mandatory school funding denied

November 8, 2006 - 8:20AM
(NEWS 3) - Tuesday's ballot included five important proposals for the state. Out of the five, only one was a close race – Proposal 2 to ban affirmative action.

Proposal 1 was related to the conservation of recreation funds. An overwhelming 81 percent of voters cast a ballot to approve the proposal that prevents diversion of parks, camping, hunting, fishing fees by state legislature.

Proposal 2 was the closest race of the five. Fifty-eight percent of voters said Yes to banning affirmative action that gives public preferential treatment for race, gender, color, ethnicity or national origin.

Proposal 3: 68 percent of voters voted against allowing a hunting season for mourning doves.

Voters approved Proposal 4 with 80 percent saying Yes to limit the power of eminent domain. This will be a constitutional amendment to prohibit governments from use of eminent domain for economic development or increasing tax revenue

Proposal 5: The issue of mandatory school funding failed with 62 percent of voters voting against it. This proposal would have required the state to increase funding of public schools and colleges to match rate of inflation.

Well, four out of the five proposals went the way I'd hoped.  The ban on hunting mourning doves is retarded, but hey... at least I won't have to pay for teachers' retirements.

(...80% is better than nothing!)
