Yes, Briney, I back up the entire website to my PC. That won't help much if my apartment burns down, but I'm too poor to buy a tape system.

For what it's worth, I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,000 posts on the old forum. Besides, I'm not a post whore. Most of my posts contain meaningful information, not "LOLZORZ, BYE!" crap.

What happened to all your spare HDD's? And wouldn't Tape burn too? What lot of good it'd do in a fire.

Tapes can be stored offsite, such as at a friend's house, or in a safety deposit box.

Yeah I used to put my backup HDD in my car before I blew my old one and had to use the backup as a main drive ;)

Well so can my spare HDD! Duh! Or could the ones you used to have...they could go into a fire proof safe. But I don't recal you havin one.

Yeah, I don't have one. Besides, using a spare HDD as an offsite backup would be a pain in the butt.

I might have to get a USB/FireWire enclosure. That would make things much more tolerable.
