So, my rant about freshmen for the week...

Today during track practice we had a good workout.  5 1000 Meter runs at 3:05 (half miles are 800Meters) so it was a pretty hard workout.  We got done with 3k and it started to rain while we were waiting to start the next one, and then it thundered so track should be cancelled.  Well, we didn't see lighting, and a lot of us wanted to finish the workout cause we were so close.  Coach made a deal for us to run a 400M Sprint sub 60 seconds.  Nothing really hard, but it was still something to finish on.  So, were coming around the 200 mark and someone is about to pass me on the inside so I was watching them and starting to stride out a little bit.  Well, we have this freshman, who is really really really annoying.  He just got more annoying today.  I'm just a bit shy of running a full out sprint racing someone.  While I was watching the guy on the inside, he was walking the wrong direction on the track, in lane one (the fast lane), with his head down, and I didn't see him.  WHAM!  Knocked him about 10 feet backwards and I rolled into the grass.  After I get the wind back in my lung and the team comes and makes sure I'm ok, I get back up and finish the sprint.  

Well, nothings to bad, I took most of the force with my knee though.  Even though its my bad knee that I was just getting over an injury on, it seemed ok.  

Well, it wasn't.  I went to get out of the car when I got home and could barly bend my knee.  Even after taking 800MG Ibprouefen(sp?)  its still swollen and it hurts if I turn my foot the wrong way even.

The most annoying part?  We are one week away from regionals, and one week away from state.  The bigger problem?  I have to qualify for state at Regionals.  Even though I've ran the time to qualify, I still can't go if I'm not healthy enough to run the times by next Friday.  So, instead of running 3 races at state, I may not even get to go....

Wes, if you hit somebody full-on at a dead sprint, they never would've gotten off the pavement.

For some reason, I think it'd take more than 200 meters for wes to get to a full sprint...

I may be mistaken, but I believe the Fatman was a legendary member of the Pork Chop Relay.

The Infamous Pork Chop Relay...

This relay is the 1600 Meter relay, where 4 men run 400 Meters while carrying a baton in which they exchange when one person starts running and the other one stops running.  The Pork Chop relay consists of 4 throwers (shotput and discus) , ie: fat men.  

Yes, I was a founding member of the infamous Three Rivers Track Pork Chop Relay.

And god did it suck.  I'm no runner.

I believe my team was me, Tex, Jim Gillard and Aaron Frankenwhatever.

Yeap, we're being serious.  TR hasn't had one in a while though.  I kinda miss having a fat man relay.

Aaron Fleckenstein. And the pork chop relay was used as a buffer sometimes to give the girl TR racers time to rest cause some of em did the race before the 2 mile and the 1600 relay. I dont know, but one day they had the 2 mile runners get right back on the track and do a 1600 relay. I threw up.

^^ They did that last night.  Accept our 3200 guys asked to do it.

I run the 800....which is just before the 3200....and I can still rip off 53's...if I can do it, the girls can too.

Ahh, well this girls team was going for the record or somethin.

Wow damn.  What happened?  This years girls track team sucks gnarcore....the team consists of the throwers, and Erika Schroll....and....well, thats about it.  They are about the only people who score points.  

Blah blah blah track blah relay blah blah running blah blah done.
