I'll go see it if I have an overwhelming desire to gouge my eyes out with a rusty steel spork.
-b0b (...or maybe not.) |

When it comes to live action movies based on video games, it at least has to be better than Super Mario Brothers.
Mortal Kombat wasn't so bad. The Wizard rocked, though that was a movie about video games. |

I have a thing about movies. I see like 2 or 3 a week these days.
So I end up seeing shit I don't even want to. Like The Constant Gardener or Elizabethtown (Granted these were Leah's choices) |

I love going to movies. The whole feel of sitting in the theater, the smell of popcorn and the massiveness of the screen immortalize the movie for me. But when i go to see CRAP like Transporter 2 I want to drive out to Hollywood and kick certain executives in the crotch. So yea the only movies im going to see soon are Harry Potter 4 and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Can I get a "Heck Yeah!" for Narnia?!
-b0b (...will be there!) |

Has anyone seen the Narnia trailer on a digital movie screen? I really almost cried. Although that could have been the feelings of seeing that in such clear and beautifulness in regards to waiting for Serenity to start playing.

I bought the Narnia series again last summer while buying a bunch of my "childhood favorites." Seven softcover books in a heavy slipcase, only $15.00. Someone had bought it for significantly more and returned it unopened in the original shrinkwrap, so I got it at the used price in new condition.
One of these days, I plan on reading the series to my children. -b0b (...must see the movie!) |

I'm pretty happy that they have a nerd and huge fan of the books directing them. All visual effects are being done by Weta (LotR) so these films are going to be top notch. I believe that depending on the reception of the first film they are going to make em all. I cant wait for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, that was my favorite book. That, or the Horse and His Boy. Good stuff.

Dawn Treader was definitely the shizzle-muh-nizzle.
-b0b (...hopes to see all seven.) |

If you want to see how the effects are coming along here is a production summary video
Aslan is looking pretty hawt, that was a ballsy decision to go with an all CG lion. http://bvim-qref.sitestream.com/LionWitchWardrobe/Narnia_Chapter5_VFX_1500.mov |

Well here's some things I can say without giving it away.
NO DEMONS! I liked the game more (even if I couldn't see half of it). I need a trip to Hell and killing DEMONS. Possesion and the like. This movie kinda felt more Resident Evil than Doom. However There is a five minute walkthrough in first person mode. Excellent. I hope just a few movies do it more. That way they don't spoil it. Could be sequel? Sure...but I wouldn't see it until Netflix carried it. The feel was good. It took some twists that weren't Hollywoodish...which was nice. Although there was an unnessisary hand to hand fight scene. Subject A throws down weapon, Subject B fires last shot in weapon. A and B fight. In my world: Subject A throws down weapon, Subject Me...fires last shot in weapon....at Subject A's head! BFG....excellent. Feel...pretty good, nice and dark, shadows, suspensefull. Almost could see better than the game...but I digress. So what I'm really trying to say is NO DEMONS?! COME ON!!! X (C+ maaaybe B-) |
