The Storage Guy

When I'm not saving kittens from burning buildings and rescuing damsels in distress, I work extensively with a myriad of enterprise storage systems from just about every vendor on the planet (thanks to the crapshoot that is government purchasing). I spend most of my time working with EMC CLARiiON, Celerra, and VNX systems and NetApp FAS and vSeries storage appliances, but I also work with HP MSA and EVA hardware, Dell EqualLogic/Compellent appliances, and HDS (Hitachi) stuff.

Of course, the back-end is just as complex as the front-end.  I support iSCSI, Fiber Channel, NFS, and CIFS storage standards and I'm currently evaluating FCoE.  In addition to native storage, I also handle archiving, replication, mirroring, tape out (yuck!), and other disaster recovery tasks.  This infrastructure supports just about every imaginable task including virtualization, telephony, database storage, and file storage. 

When I'm not hip-deep in storage, I also support networking (primarily Cisco), virtualization (mostly VMware) and collaboration (predominately SharePoint/InfoPath) efforts, amongst a variety of other stuff I've stuck my nose into over the years.
